The first day of Fall has officially arrived and the weather couldn’t be more perfect! My morning drive into town is filled with the changing colors of the season. Its time to enjoy this weather and get outside for all the weekend activities and once again, there is so much to do here in the Lexington and Rockbridge County area of Virginia!

Lets start with the 15th Annual Nothin Fancy Bluegrass Festival, which is held at the lovely Glen Maury Park in neighboring Buena Vista, VA. The festival starts Thursday, and along with listening to some great music, the view of the Blue Ride Mountains from the park is also superb!

On Friday afternoon, here in downtown Lexington, VA the Arts of Lexington Block Party will take place. Artists, musicians and food vendors set up between Main and Jefferson Street, so come on to town and enjoy the afternoon. The party starts at 4:30 and ends at 7:00.

Saturday is overflowing with activities also, lets start with Boxerwoods Fall Festival, which takes place on Saturday afternoon with apple pressing, cider making and more! Also, National Alpaca Farm Days in Fairfield at Ridge Valley Alpacas will be taking place from 12:00 5:00 as well as the Smithsonian Magazines Museum Day Live, happening at VMIs George C. Marshall Museum.

Finish off the weekend with some music at Sundays on the Deck at the Rockbridge Vineyard in Raphine, VA. Another great location to check out the changing leaf colors while enjoying the lovely fall weather!
