Toys for Tots Campaign
Downtown Lexington is a little damp and dreary today, but that’s ok, the rain is supposed to move out of here this afternoon and perk right up just in time for the weekend’s activities, and there are sure are lots of things to choose from!! I’ll start with tonight, which is a private event for our local Association of Realtors, but I would like to mention it. We will have our annual installation of officers ceremony at the RE Lee Hotel, this night includes a social, the program, dinner and dancing. It’s really a nice way to welcome the incoming Board of Directors and for us to get together as a realtor group. Each person that attends is asked to bring an unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots Program. The picture of the Lego tower is from our office here at JF Brown Real Estate, we had 100% participation from our office, which is just fabulous!!
On with the weekend of activities! Thursday night the Buena Vista Christmas Parade will take place on in our neighboring city. Friday night, Lexington will host their Christmas parade, but before that, the Rockbridge Historical Society will be having their Annual Open House, this starts at 3:00 so plenty of time to go by to look at all the wonderful treasures of the area that they have on display. It’s also First Fridays in town, so the Gallery walk will be in full swing also. If you would like to stay indoors on Friday, maybe the Mountain State Rodeo at the Virginia Horse Center is more your style. This will take place through the weekend.
Saturday the activities continue! The Jingle Bell 5k Run and 1.5k Walk will take place in downtown Lexington, VA starting at the Nelson Street Bridge. The Rockbridge Choral Society and Rockbridge Youth Chorale will be holding their Holiday Concert with Audience caroling at 7:15pm; concert beginning at 7:30pm.
The weekend activities are not over yet, Boxwerwood is having their Winter Greenery Workshop, you can finish up the weekend by making your own creation on Sunday.
