Autumn in Lexington, VA
The sun is shining and that is such a great feeling! It’s definitely October here in Lexington, VA with warms days and cools nights, perfect weather for just about everyone!! I sure hope the sun continues to shine for this weekend, as it’s another busy one all around Rockbridge County.
Let’s start with tonight’s Art Exhibit Reception, which will feature local photographer Patrick Hinely’s work, “Photographs for Washington and Lee Calendars.” This event will be held at the Kamen Gallery at 5:30 p.m. If you don’t know Patrick, then you must not roam the streets of Lexington much as he seems to always be around with his camera waiting for the perfect shot! Tonight’s exhibit will focus on the work he’s done for the Washington & Lee calendars, which are also a delight to see each year!
Homecoming at Virginia Military Institute is also this weekend, with lots of activities including the football game against Samford. Go KEYDETS!! We look forward to welcoming past cadets back to town.
On Saturday the Annual Mountain Day Street Festival will take place in neighboring Buena Vista, VA. Looks like a fun day of crafts, food and live music. Also on Saturday is the Large Car Mag Southern Classic Truck Show, which will take place at the Lee Hi Travel Plaza just north of Lexington, VA.
Why not finish off the weekend at the Rockbridge Vineyard with Sunday’s on the Deck. Take a blanket and enjoy the live music while enjoying the scenery and lovely fall weather we are having!
