The rain has stopped and the sun is shining for now, but I understand we are in for a quite a bit more rain in the upcoming days. Yesterday there wasn’t a ray of sunshine that was able to get through all the rain clouds, but today the sun is winning to make for a lovely, warm, perfect fall day, ideal for the Farmer’s Market here in downtown Lexington happening right now!!
This is a big weekend here in downtown Lexington, VA as it is Parent’s Weekend at Washington & Lee University, the parents will be busy with university activities including a home football game against Guilford on Saturday, go GENERALS!!
The rest of the downtown Lexington will be enjoying First Friday’s activities, including the Art Walk of Galleries and live music at Sweet Treats Bakery with Red Hill Band. Downtown will be buzzing with people!!
The weekend continues with the 23rd Annual Harvest Fest which will take place on Saturday from 12 pm-6pm at the Rockbridge Vineyard in Raphine, VA. Looks like a fun-filled day for everyone with hayrides, grape stomping and live music! Also on Saturday is McCormick Fall Farm Day at McCormick’s Farm also located in Raphine, VA. This is the only day in the year that the grist mill operates so make sure you don’t miss it. There will also be a broom maker, blacksmith, music and food to round out your day.
