The August humidity has arrived! Driving into downtown Lexington, VA this morning the shop windows were steamed up on the inside, which means it’s definitely muggy on the outside. But that’s ok, we are mid-August, the local schools have started so there’s not much left to summer and I’m sure we can endure plus the nights are starting to cool off a little!
The farmer’s market is in full swing this morning, lots of fresh veggies and treats! The market can be found right in the heart of downtown Lexington, VA in the McCrum’s parking lot as we call it McCrum’s was the local pharmacy and soda shop when I was growing up. It was a regular stop on my walk to town.
Of course there will be some live music this weekend! Sweet Treats will be featuring the Red Hill Band. Come on out Friday night to check it out, you won’t be disappointed! (Update – this is Friday, August 28th – sorry for the confusion)
The VA Horse Center will be hosting the Clinton Anderson Walkout Tour this weekend. So if you need some help with your horses behavior, this might be the place to be!
As I mentioned earlier, the local schools are back in session and the colleges are right behind them. On Saturday, August 22, VMI‘s Annual Matriculation starts. VMI will be welcoming another class of RATS. This is what the first year students are called until about the first of next year. Click here to read more about this interesting tradition.
Also, don’t forget that JF Brown Real Estate will be sponsoring Love Canon at Lime Kiln Theater on Saturday August 29th. Come on out, bring your dancing shoes and enjoy an energy filled night of music!!
