Wednesday’s Weekend Outlook for September 2, 2015

Lexington, VA FarmersMarket

Lexington, VA FarmersMarket

I just got back from a little trip to The Lexington Farmer’s Market which is in full swing today until 12:30, so you still have some time to get there. What an assortment of fresh goodies and lovely flowers and such an abundance of them. If you have not been, you still have a couple months this year, as the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the last market for the year. The Farmer’s Market is located right in the heart of downtown Lexington, VA on Jefferson Street.

What a big Labor Day Weekend we have coming up! I took a quick Google search to find out what Labor Day is really all about and felt happy to find this definition from the U.S. Department of Labor, Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. Our neighbors in Buena Vista will taking care of our local celebration as they will be hosting the 45th Annual Labor Day Festival with so many activities that they need to start on Sunday! Click here for more information on the music, food, speeches and fireworks. Looks like a fun-filled celebration!!

It’s also the first Friday of the month so it’s time for First Fridays here in downtown Lexington. There is an art walk around the galleries, music at Sweet Treats, there are even some college footballs games this weekend. Football definitely equals Fall!!

Go ahead and contact us today! We’d be happy to show you some lovely homes in Lexington and neighboring Buena Vista so that you can make this lovely area your home too.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your week and I’ll be back Friday for our Featured Property of the week.
