Jump Mountain, Rockbridge County, Virginia

Jump Mountain,
Rockbridge County, Virginia

Boy did it snow!! I would say somewhere between 12-24 inches for most people in the Lexington and Rockbridge County area of Virginia. But today, the sun is shining and the temperatures are to reach the 40’s! The streets in town are all plowed and things are back to normal here in downtown Lexington, Virginia.

There are a couple things on the calendar for the weekend, even an outdoor event! Let’s start with some happenings in our neighboring city of Buena Vista, VA. The Paxton House Historical Society will present “The Brick Yard, Buena Vista’s Forgotten Industry” at the Maury River Senior Center on Friday evening starting at 7:00. The Paxton House, c. 1830-1835 is designated as one of Virginia’s Historic Landmarks.

On Saturday, The Brushy Occasional will take place! Looks like two events are schedule for the day- HIKE FOR THE HARDY at 1:00 & RUN FOR THE RAGGED at 11:00. Brushy Hill is in a 600 acre watershed owned by the City of Lexington and is a made up of about six miles of old logging roads. This event will kick off, “A Brushy Trial Running Series” which will happen each Saturday through March.

If it’s too cold to participate in these activities, why not take a look at our new search site to find your  home here in the Lexington, VA area. If you see something you like, go ahead and contact us to set up a showing to see inside!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!
